[dropcap style=”font-size:100px;color:#992211;”]A[/dropcap]n avant-garde Eurovision will celebrate the obscure, niche and uncategorisable music that runs deeper than national borders. EuroNoize was born from Israeli promoters Pil and Galia Kollectiv’s grotesque fascination with the Eurovision Song Contest to represent the secret international fellowship of “punx and weirdos” stretching everywhere from Russia to Ireland.
The event will feature 11 bands from around the world — although the UK will not be represented following Brexit — who will perform one new song in front of a live audience. It will also be streamed live so people can cast their vote from afar for their favourite performance of the evening. Ruby Waters, drag alter ego of Andrew Milk from Shopping, and Kay Isgay of Homosexual Death Drive will host.
Full line-up:
- Asian Women on the Telephone (Russia)
- Sissy (Ireland)
- Hassan K (France)
- Golden Core (Norway)
- The Callas (Greece)
- Winny Puhh (Estonia)
- Tab Ularasa (Italy)
- Felix Kubin (Germany)
- E.P.P.! (Serbia)
- Mauraudeur (Switzerland)
- Johnny the Horse (Czech Republic) – TBC
EuroNoize will take place on 23 May at 23 May at Scala. Book tickets here.
