Loitered Lens: Man and the Echo

[dropcap style=”font-size:100px; color:#992211;”]I[/dropcap]n 2015 Man & The Echo released three singles, toured relentlessly and made festival appearances at The Isle of Wight festival and alongside Billy Bragg at Glastonbury, as well as being invited to play live on Radio 4’s Loose Ends.

They received critical praise for their first offerings and in particular their second single ‘All Right’ which was talked up by Steve Lamacq on 6music and was made Absolute Radio’s ‘Single of the Week, of the Year.’

Their third single might have had a bit more radio play if it hadn’t contained 25 uses of the word “fuck”.

In 2016, their pointedly activist frontman Gaz Roberts commenced writing scathing political and satirical vignettes for Trebuchet, and so it seemed only polite to send Richard Harvey off to a Man and the Echo show at London’s Lexington to photograph what all the fuss is about.
