[dropcap style=”font-size:100px;color:#992211;”]A[/dropcap]fter a chance meeting in 2012 at a benefit, Nicole Atkins and Jim Sclavunos embarked on a nomadic transatlantic writing relationship from London to Harlem via New Jersey and Nashville.
Initially collaborating on songs for Atkins’ solo albums, the songs kept flowing and the idea for a duet album blossomed. Debut track “A Man Like Me” features Dean Ween on guitar and Terry Edwards on sax.
The upcoming as yet untitled album was recorded at Electric Ladyland in NYC and features Jack Lawrence on bass, Jackson Smith on guitar, and Dave Sherman on piano. Jon Spencer guests on guitar for two tracks.
Atkins and Sclavunos will bring their live show to The Social on 2 May as part of the venue’s Save The Social fundraiser campaign.
